Prerequisites
|
IKO Assistant Instructor
|
- Be at least 16 years old
- Be certified as an IKO kiteboarder level 3 for at least 6 months
- Have a valid CPR & First aid certificate
- Register as an assistant candidate on the IKO website
- Complete the 5-day training course with a certified Assistant trainer.
|
IKO Instructor level 1
|
- Be at least 18 years old
- Kiteboard for more than 12 months,
- Ride at IKO level 3N for 6months (ride upwind, jump, jibes, toeside, safely & confidently)
- Have an IKO assistant instructor certification
- Have a valid CPR & First aid certificate
- Complete the 5 day ITC course with an IKO examiner

IKO Instructor level 2
|
- Be an IKO instructor level 1
- Log a minimum of 160 teaching hours,
- Register 30 students through the IKO online feedback system
- Pass the level 2 Online Exam.
- Have a valid CPR & First aid certificate
- Have a powerboat license or boat safety certificate
|
IKO Instructor level 2 senior
|
- Be an instructor level 2
- Log a total of 1000 teaching hours
- Register 100 students through the IKO online feedback system
- Pass the level 2 Senior Online Exam.
- Have a valid CPR & First aid certificate
- Have a powerboat license or boat safety certificate

IKO Assistant Examiner
|
- Be an instructor level 2 senior,
- Have at least 2 years of IKO teaching experience
- Have taught to students in different locations
- Be fluent English and preferably another language
- Have certified 5 assistant instructors
- Be selected for the training.
- Be at least 25 years old.
- Have a valid CPR & First aid certificate
- Have a powerboat license or boat safety certificate
- Complete at least one week of Examiner training.

IKO Examiner
|
- Complete the IKO’s Assistant Instructor training.
- Be selected for the Examiner training.
- Have taught to students in different locations
- Be fluent English and preferably another language
- Be at least 28 years old.
- Complete min three weeks of Examiner training.
- Have a valid CPR & First aid certificate
- Have a powerboat license or boat safety certificate
